Lucinda and Zakai stepped out of the building side by side, maintaining a reasonable distance.
He inquired, “Miss Simmons, I heard you’re really tying the knot this time?”
“Yes, the wedding is next month. If you haven’t returned to Eurfrica by then, you’re welcome to attend. Oh, and don’t forget to bring a gift,” she replied.
He chuckled.
“You’re getting married. Of course I’ll make sure to get you an outstanding gift!”
Lucinda smiled back.

His laughter grew louder, masking a hint of loneliness in his eyes.
“I think it’s too early for me to think about marriage. Recently, I fell head over heels for a girl at first sight. But sadly, she’s going to marry someone else. Such a shame!”
As he finished speaking, he bent his head dejectedly, and he looked a bit sad.
Lucinda comforted him, “Don’t be disheartened. You’ll find someone even better, someone who’s truly meant for you.”
“I hope so.”
Zakai came to a halt and unexpectedly took her hand, acting like a true gentleman.
“Miss Simmons, I want to say hello to you in the Eurfrican way for the last time, it that fine with you?”
“Sure, it’s fine,” she replied, not thinking a ki*s on the back of her hand was a big deal.
He gazed at her smiling face and leaned down slightly.
“Beautiful lady, it would be so much pleasure to have dinner with you tonight.”
With that said, he lowered his head.
But before his lips could touch the back of her hand, a large hand snatched her wrist and pulled her aside.
A man said angrily in a low voice, “Dinner? Let me treat you to something else first!”
And with those words, Zakai received a strong punch to his right cheek.
